Welcome to Hev's Stitches
This is a small shoppe set up by Hev for those people that love the look of counted cross stitch & would like to have a project or design done. While though they enjoy the look they either don't know how to do it, or don't have the time. That is where I come in. I will complete the design or project for you for a decently cheap price. You will not have to purchase any of the materials for the project or design, I will do all of it for you. I do my best to keep prices a cheap as I can. I do give estimates before I agree to do the projects. I have never gone over my estimate, though I have charged under my estimate. So come on in & look at my galleries & see what patterns I already own. If you see one you like don't hesitate to ask me what the charge to complete it would be.
I am putting the following completed cross stitched design up for sale. You can view the gallery containing more pictures of the design here.
This design is stitched on 14count white Aida cloth. The design features the American flag over and over with a rectangle box that says “Welcome”. The design was originally designed by Annette Rogers & was called USA. I, personally, altered the chart a little and removed the parts that I did not like and changed them to the parts I did like. Mainly, the rectangle box that says “Welcome”. Originally that box listed all the state abbreviations and had a heart with the words USA in a smaller rectangle. I just did not like it so I re-designed it to say “Welcome”. I can see this in an entry way or something.
I am asking $25 USD for this design unframed & $35 USD framed. If you want it framed then please let me know what color frame & mat board you want. I do not put glass in any framing I do. It is always Plexiglas. If you prefer glass then I would prefer that you frame it yourself. I am afraid that no matte how much padding or how much I stress “Fragile” on the box the glass will get broken. If you would like this design just fill out my contact form here & let me know. It is first come, first get. If the first person can not pay then the second one gets it.
If you had to choose, would you rather spend money on overdyed floss or hand-dyed fabric?
Well in all honesty, neither. I prefer just plain DMC fabric & floss. Though I have never used overdyed floss, I have heard that it isn’t color fasted & I prefer my floss to be color fasted so I don’t have to worry about the colors running into each other. I know that you can run water over the floss to make it color fast, but when I want to stitch I want to stitch. I don’t want to wait for my floss to dry, lol.
As for hand-dyed fabric, I have never tried it but unless it was color fast I wouldn’t want to try it. I only buy fabric as I do projects. I rarely have fabric on hand. Besides I have yet to come across a project that uses a color besides white, ecru, or black. Though I do have to admit I have recently purchased the DMC’s marbilized aida cloth. I love the look of it & I can’t help myself from purchasing it even though it costs $6 US for an 14X18 piece.
I finally got Serenity Prayer finished. Well, it has been finished for a couple of weeks, but I didn’t have a computer that had a graphic program on it so that I could edit the size to fit in the design here. So without further ado here are the finished cross stitching pictures of Serenity Prayer:
Since I am finished with Serenity Prayer I have moved on to Embrace. The next commission on my list. Remember I am open for commission orders at any time. Other then Embrace all the others are just whenever I get them done projects. My mother is the one that wants them done & she isn’t in a big hurry for them, lol.
Christmas Orders
Remember if you want something for Christmas finished by me, earlier is better. My cut off date for Christmas commissions is October 1st. After October 1st it will be based on whether I believe I can get the project completed or not.
The Galleries
The galleries will be going through a mild change. I am going to be adding my working gallery to the galleries so I will be moving the pages around. So if you are viewing them & all the sudden they disappear then that is what is going on. I am going to try making sections/pages for the galleries instead of them all just being thrown together. Hopefully, that will make it easier for you all to check them out.
My personal computer has been put out of commission thanks to a suprise lightening strike. This thunderstorm came out of no where & the very first strike hit my computer. I am not happy about this. The weather team didn’t even say that there was a chance. So I am having to use one of my parent’s computers. That is fine, but all the photos that I was adding to the gallery here is on my computer. So while I am not able to add photos, I may look at some other ways of doing the gallery here. We will see.
